Majoring In Environmental Biology

You may know or may not know that i am currently majoring in Environmental Biology at USM starting from July 2009 and will probably graduate my degree next year. I come inside USM by aiming to get Majoring in Biotechnology which seen to be very popular and all people rush to it. But after one year spending at fundamental course and come to choose majoring, i have look forward for environment as finally decision which seen to be unpopular and 'cold subject'. Cause when that time i have think that is that what i want is just follow the popularity?or choose wisely and be what you are.I like natural environment, that bring peace and comfort to your mind but full of mystery for you to explore.

Until the end of the 1st semester majoring in it, i have bring to 3 field trip,2 in Penang and 1 in Kedah.

There are some beautiful yacht park at the jetty

In these beach,I found that there are quite alot this big 'snail-shell' which probably ~15 cm each,I have brought back one

2) Pedu Reservoir, Kedah

The deer that bring in and rear in Pedu

From few deers, they reproduce to crowd of deers

Taken on night, they probably resting and sleeping

We have walk to the foot of the dam which surpose not allow to be enter by outsider as the Pedu reservoir is secured by army.Pedu Reservoir believe to be unpolluted as there are less human activity allow at there, the only is the resort built over there, but also had close down.

The outflow of the reservoir

The rock and soil surrounding the outflow river are red in colour because of the high iron content

Our group board boat to take water sample while the sky still in dark-6.30am.This is the lights of the dam.

The water is clear-oligotrophic

There are floating barrier on the quarter of the reservoir, this is where our boat stop at and not continue forward :(

The Pedu Reservoir located at area that are not high as we saw during the trip along, but there is heavy smog during early morning

What a APEX University mean? does they care about student welfare? or just physically build and rebuild all the building without proper management? The university no longer be 'University In Garden' cause it start to be crowd with new building in a limited space, at the same time alot of building n room are abandon, I think most student can observed it.
